Watercolor Workshop with Lori Eslick
Saturday, February 8 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Ages 16 – Adult $75 ($65 Members)
In most good (landscape) paintings there is a story, a person finding home, their ‘home’, or a place that they love. As a picture book illustrator, I have been placing children, people, families in a place that they love, frankly: that I love, in the beauty of our natural world.
We are going to be world making. In other words: we will create a world for our model (your photo) to live in. Your person/pet that you will paint, could even be a pet (if you don’t wish to paint a human) will be in a landscape/cityscape/beach, where ever you choose. Our day of painting will explore the ideas of how a landscape painting is able to be enhanced with more life in it. We as painters, can make a world for them, a beautiful place. Like a landscape, like being at the ocean or Lake Michigan (for us West Michigan painters), and while walking on that beach, the painting can take a viewer there.
Lori will do demos as we work on our painting together during the day. You will walk away from our class with 2 watercolor finished paintings, and one big smile of accomplishments! Student need to bring a photo(s) of a person/pet, to use for your reference…and a photo(s) of a landscape.
