Imaginative Portrait Sat. May 17 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Age 9-12 $15 Come and explore the art of relief portraits. Starting with a base of simple cardboard students will add a variety of creative materials to complete their imaginative portrait.
Repousse Circle Mandala Th. May 22 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Ages 9 - 12 $12 Using a piece of tin and ink students will create a radial balance design with a colorful circle frame.
A Bird in a Tree Th. May 29 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Age 6-8 $12 What a beautiful clay relief sculpture! Students will be working with rolled clay slabs and bright glaze colors to design this amazing clay piece.
Summer Still Life Sat. June 7 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Ages 4-5 $7.00 Using a variety of painting techniques including bubble prints our young artists will create a colorful vase of blooming hydrangeas. Maybe we will even add a few bees.
Sailboats on Water Sat. June 7 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. Ages 6-8 $12 Just another spectacular day at the beach watching sailboats gliding across the water. Students will create this scene using cut and torn original painted papers. Maybe they will discover a lighthouse, sunset or sea gulls in their lake scene.
Clay Turtle Th. June 12 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Age 6-8 $12 Use pinch, slab and texture techniques to build a whimsical clay turtle. Items will be ready for pick up on June 26.
Clay Friendly Lion Sat. June 14 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Age 4 - 5 $7.00 In this class students will learn basic clay skills - slab, shaping, joining, sculpting, extruding, wet glazing, firing - to form a friendly lion head. Clay pieces will be available for pick up after the firing process.
Clay Iguana Sat. June 14 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. Ages 9 - 12 $12 Come and learn how to create an incredible iguana sculpture using established clay building techniques. Students will return at their own convenience to glaze their fired pieces. This will become your favorite art class!
Australian Papunya Dot Sea Turtle Th. June 19 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Ages 6-8 $12 From the other side of the world comes an art form known for its use of bold colors, moving paths and dots to capture an image. Students will create their own papunya dot sea turtle swimming in the sea.
Ice Cream Cone Painting on Canvas Th. June 19 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Ages 9 - 12 $12 Students in this class will learn about the artist Wayne Thiebaud who is famous for his paintings of desserts. They will paint their own flavors of ice cream cones.
