Glass on Glass Mosaic Window with Deb Emerick

Ages 16 – Adult

Come and join mosaic artist, Deb Emerick, and transform
an old window into a colorful work of art using
stained glass and other materials. Deb will guide you
through the process of designing your window and then
implementing your design using glass cutting and mosaic
skills. Bring a family member and work on a window
together. You may bring your own window or you may
stop in at the NCCA-Artsplace and select your window
before the class sessions begin. Class size limited.

Stunning In Silver with Cristine Grimm

Thursday 6:00-9:00 p.m.,  July 9

Ages 14-Adult

Call a friend and make a date to create a fine piece of
jewelry using a truly amazing process. Join Cristine Grimm,
certified Art Clay instructor, in exploring the clay that turns
to 99.9% silver when fired. Start out small, making earrings
or small pendants with basic techniques that can be used
anywhere, anytime without a kiln. Cristine will bring all the
tools and tricks necessary to create something you will enjoy
wearing for years. This would be a great gift! Cost includes
silver clay, the use of all necessary tools, and a necklace and
jump ring for wearing your jewelry out the door.

Introduction to Pottery on the Wheel with Whitney Korstange

Saturday 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.,  June 13, 27

Ages 12-Adult

Take this opportunity to learn a new skill – wheel thrown
pottery. In this class students will learn the basics of
wheel throwing including centering, opening, pulling
walls of even thickness and basic shaping and trimming.
The goal of the class is to teach the steps necessary so
that students can continue working independently. The
first and second class are spaced a week apart to allow
for independent practice time. Class fee includes up to
25# of clay per person. Class size limited to 3.

Jeweler’s Bench: Classic Chainmaille Technique with Casey Bemis

Thursday 6:00-8:00 p.m.,  May 21, 28

Ages 16-Adult

In this class participants will learn to construct a
chainmaille necklace in the classic helm pattern. These
chains are constructed using pliers and two gauges of
jump rings. Each person should complete a necklace
and perhaps earrings if time allows. After mastering this
technique continue making pieces at home. Call some
friends and make this a fun, learning experience and
social gathering.

Art Uncork’d Acrylic Canvas Painting “Tulip” with Sharon Smithem

Thursday 5:30-8:30 p.m.,  July 30

Ages 18-Adult

If you would like to learn about acrylic painting under the
guidance of an experienced instructor consider signing
up for this class. Participants will use acrylic painting
techniques to complete a vibrant bouquet of tulips on a
16”x20” canvas. Part art class and part social gathering,
call a few friends and take this class together!

Art Uncork’d Acrylic Canvas Painting “Boat on Beach” with Sharon Smithem

Ages 18-Adult

Under Sharon’s experienced instruction participants will
use acrylic painting techniques to complete a lone boat
pulled onto a sandy beach on a 16”x20” canvas. If you
have been wanting to experiment with acrylic painting
this is the perfect opportunity. Call a few friends and

Zentangle® Zendalas: A Meditative Art Form with Georgianna Klein, Certified Zentangle Teacher

Saturday 12:30-3:00 p.m.,  June 27

Ages 14-Adult

Prerequisite: Basics Class. Students should bring the
Zentangle Basics kit bag (Micron pen, tortillon, and pencil).

All other materials will be provided.
After briefly exploring the use of sacred circles in
cultures around the world, students will use the
Zentangle method to create their own beautiful
mandalas on circular paper tiles.

Zentangle® Basics: A Meditative Art Form with Georgianna Klein, Certified Zentangle Teacher

Saturday 9:00-11:30 a.m., June 27

Ages 14-Adult

No prerequisite, all materials included.

Zentangle® is a fun, easy-to-learn, relaxing method
of creating beautiful images using repetitive patterns.
No drawing experience or special skills are necessary
except an open heart and the ability to hold a pen. In
this class students will create two archival quality ink
drawings on small paper tiles. Each student will receive
a Zentangle kit bag of supplies to continue tangling at
home.

6:00 – 8:00 p.m. except Sat., May 2, 8:00 a.m. – Noon

Ages 16-Adult

Classroom presentations, review of settings, and compositional rules will be taught along with remote location photos shoots. April 28 will be a local photo shoot, May 2 will be a location further afield. Students will receive two of their own 8”x10” matted photographs to take home after the class to display along with a thumb drive. Bring your camera with all necessary cables, chargers, batteries and memory cards.
