Zentangle® Basics with Georgianna Klein

No prerequisite, all materials included. Zentangle is a fun, easy-to-learn, relaxing method of creating beautiful images using repetitive patterns. No drawing experience or special skills are necessary except an open heart and the ability to hold a pen. Students will create ink drawings on small paper tiles.

Zentangle® Inspired Art: Organic Garden Tangles with Georgianna Klein

Prerequisite: Zentangle Basics

Learn free flowing patterns that evoke vines, blossoms, trees, and shrubs to create a garden scene. Learn new patterns, to modify patterns, and to compose your own scene. All work will be done on toned tan paper, using black and brown Micron pens, white charcoal, and white gel pens. Students will use a journal for session one and homework and will then create a 9” X 12” garden scene suitable for framing in session two. All materials are included except Basics kit bag.

Perhaps you have seen Olivia’s mini birds in the NCCA-Artsplace Artist Market. In this class you will have the opportunity to make two mini birds – a cardinal and a bluebird. This would be a great class to take with a friend or a teen.

Adult Lapidary Jewelry Design with Don and Cheryl Benson

This class is designed to provide a jewelry making experience that very few people will ever have an opportunity to try. Using lapidary tools, participants will learn to cut, shape and polish stones and fashion them into jewelry. Students will then design a sterling silver pendant for their cabochon. Open studio will be available during the course. Please bring your own stone or select one from our supply

Fused Glass Layered Panels with Linda Moore

Ages 14-Adult

Come and try a new medium with glass artist, Linda Moore. Each student will create two 6”x6” panels of glass that when finished will be layered in a stand to give the illusion of depth. Whether it is a birch forest, field of flowers or your own idea, the result will be stunning. Pieces will be available for pick up after April 6. Start planning where you will display this unique piece in your home. Class size limited.

Flintknapping with Scott Fessenden

Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Ages 14-Adult

Using traditional antler bone, stone and copper tools, students will finish at least three arrowheads and a knife point. Students will learn about the history of flintknapping and the geology regarding the different types of flint and obsidian used, along with other fun survival skills. Must register a week in advance. Bring a lunch. Class size limited.
