Pottery on the Wheel

Learn to center, open, raise walls and shape a wheel thrown form. Practice is encouraged during open studio hours in between classes. Students will glaze their work on the last day of class.

Students will be inspired by ancient designs to create modern jewelry that is easy to create using only wire, beads and basic tools. Types of wires will be covered for the best results. This class is a great way to learn a new medium with little investment. A necklace, a pair of earrings and a bracelet can be created in this two-part class.

4 Week Stained Glass Project

4 Week Stained Glass Project
Wed. April 9 – 30 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Age 16-Adult $150 ($140 Members)
If you’ve already taken a beginner class this is your chance to develop a larger project. Up to 30 piece stained glass pattern with Zinc Edge Framing. Choose from a variety of provided patterns or get your own pattern approved ahead of first class. Weeks one and two will be cutting and grinding, week three will be taping and tacking/soldering. Week four is adding zinc edge, exploring hanging options and creating patina/waxing. All materials and provided, unless there is a unique color or texture of glass required for your pattern. Open studio times encouraged.

This ancient Eastern European traditional folk art form has been handed down for generations. Still created using dyes and wax, the delicate designs can symbolize spring, rebirth, new life, and Easter. Each student will make two eggs.

These fun hand building projects introduce students to working with slab, stamp, texture and die cut techniques to create dainty flower bells that hang from wire stalks, and small bee blossoms/water dishes shaped like blossoms to place atop copper stems. Week one is for building your slab flower formations and week two is for glazing. Final projects ready to pick up the week after last class.
