Vacation Photography with Richard Hinton

Take this opportunity to learn a new skill – wheel thrown pottery. In this class students will learn the basics of wheel throwing including centering, opening, pulling wall of even thickness and basic shaping, trimming and glazing. The goal of this class is to teach the steps necessary so that students can continue working independently after class. Class fee includes 25# of clay per person. Class size is limited to 3 people.

Learn the art of mat cutting for your own use or to prepare a gift for a special person. In this workshop you will learn about mat selection, how to properly measure, cut and mount your work, and assemble your frame. Each participant should bring an 8”x10” piece of art or photograph (slightly smaller is fine) to frame. On the first day we will discuss materials, equipment, and mat selection. The second day we will cut mats and assemble frames. Some materials provided.

Needle Felted Landscape or Still Life with Judy Grant

Come and explore the art of needle felting with instructor Judy Grant. In this class you will learn the basics of needle felting using layers of rich wool roving colors. Each person will be given a choice of an 8”x10” floral landscape with poppies or flowers in a vase still life. After completing your design you will add interest using beads and creative stitching. Bring a lunch. No prior experience is necessary to thoroughly enjoy this class. Class size limited. Please specify either still life with vase or floral landscape when registering for this class.

Do you like the look of artisan designed silver jewelry? Then come and join us in exploring Art Clay, the clay to turns to 99.9% silver when fired. We will start out small, making earrings or a small pendant with basic techniques that can be used anywhere, anytime, without a kiln. Cristine Grimm, a certified Art Clay instructor, will bring all the tools and tricks necessary to create something unique. You will walk out the door wearing your new piece of jewelry.

Fused Glass Wind Chimes and Trivet with Linda Moore

Step away from the dreariness of winter and into the beauty of glass work. During the first class students will select from a variety of vivid colors of glass and use glass cutting tools to cut and design their own wind chimes and trivet. The pieces will then be fused off site in a kiln. The following week the wind chime will be assembled with wire and beads. Come and check out the possibilities. No prior experience is required.

Drawing & Painting Explorations with Lindsay Isenhart

Ages 12 – Adult

Each class will focus on a different drawing and painting technique or material, with examples of artist who use it. Try new materials and experiment with different styles. This is a great opportunity for those brand new to art and those expanding their knowledge and skills. Some of the materials used will include graphite, ink, gauche, pastel, acrylic, vellum, paper, canvas, and transfer paper. Drawing techniques explored will include continuous line, subtractive drawing, gesture, perspective, line over wash, layering, and abstraction. All materials provided.

Design an Owl! Creative Hand Sewing Techniques with Nancy Myers

Owls are all the rage right now so this is the time to join in the fun. In this class students will learn creative hand stitching techniques, applique, fusing, and then use handfuls of batting to create their own unique stuffed owl.
