Pottery on the Wheel
Wed. April 23 – May 14 12:30 – 3:00 p.m.
Age 16 – Adult $100 ($95 Members)
Learn to center, open, raise walls and shape a wheel thrown form. Practice is encouraged during open studio hours in between classes. Students will glaze their work on the last day of class.

These fun hand building projects introduce students to working with slab, stamp, texture and die cut techniques to create dainty flower bells that hang from wire stalks, and small bee blossoms/water dishes shaped like blossoms to place atop copper stems. Week one is for building your slab flower formations and week two is for glazing. Final projects ready to pick up the week after last class.

Use clay slabs, die cuts, texture tools and bold colorful glazes to create a shallow watering dish to set out in your garden for the butterflies.

INSPIRE Art for TEENS: Van Gogh Ceramic Platter

Students will learn about the works of master impressionist Vincent VanGogh and use his artistic style to glaze a ceramic platter using underglazes and a wide selection of brushes, sponges and other glazing tools. The final product is a beautiful functional serving platter.

Saturday, October 13 & 20 from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; and
Glazing Day, Saturday, October 27 from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Class Fee: $85 ($80 Members)

Ages 16-Adult

Are you finally ready to learn how to use the potter’s
wheel? Join ceramic artist Dakota Brandt in learning the
techniques of centering the clay, pulling up the sides,
trimming, and finally glazing your own clay pieces. In
between sessions students may continue to work in our
pottery place and practice these techniques. Class fee
includes up to 25# of clay per person. Class size limited
to 3 to ensure maximum time on the wheel.
