Parks in Focus aims to connect underserved youth to nature through the use of photography. Since their partnership began in 2007 they have been providing outdoor photography education to Newaygo County youth, including an immersion trip to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Seney National Wildlife Refuge. This year they received a mini-grant though the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) administered through Lowell Arts! as well as a Summer Youth Initiative (SYI) grant from the Fremont Area Community Foundation to produce this wonderful exhibit of the Parks In Focus youth participant’s photography.
