The copper foil technique method made popular
by L.C. Tiffany at the turn of the century, involves
wrapping the pieces of glass with copper foil and
soldering them together along the length of the seams.
Using cutting, grinding, copper foiling and soldering
skills students will use a variety of colors of art glass
and bevels to create a quilt block style pattern project.
This two day class is limited to 10 participants.

Glass Bead Lampworking

The term lampwork is derived from the Venetian tradition
which is known as “a lume” which means at the lamp.
Lampwork simply means that the beads have been
worked over a flame. Participants will use hothead
torches, MAPP gas and Italian glass rods to create one
of a kind art glass beads. Each student will use a variety
of sculpting tools, rods, stringers and frit to create at least
6 glass beads using basic bead building, dots, lines, and
shaping techniques. Limited to 8 participants.

Come and join mosaic artist, Deb Emerick, and transform an old window into a colorful work of art using stained glass and other materials. Deb will guide you through the process of designing your window and then implementing your design using glass cutting and mosaic skills. Bring a family member and work on a window together. You may bring your own window or stop in at the NCCA-Artsplace and select your window before the class sessions begin.
Fused Glass Layered Panels with Linda Moore

Ages 14-Adult
Come and try a new medium with glass artist, Linda Moore. Each student will create two 6”x6” panels of glass that when finished will be layered in a stand to give the illusion of depth. Whether it is a birch forest, field of flowers or your own idea, the result will be stunning. Pieces will be available for pick up after April 6. Start planning where you will display this unique piece in your home. Class size limited.
