In this basics class come and join us in exploring Art Clay the clay that turns to 99.9% pure silver when fired. Start out small, making earrings or small pendants with basic techniques that can be used anywhere, anytime, without a kiln. Cost includes silver clay, the use of all necessary tools, and a necklace, ear wires or jump ring for wearing your piece out the door.

Students will learn the French crochet and Viking knit weave. Make a necklace or a couple of bracelets in this class. Learn what kind of wire works best, the techniques for successful completion of projects. No knitting experience required.

Students will create two 1 inch cuff bracelets and two 1/4 inch cuff bracelets. Create one of a kind pattern on copper cuffs that will be etched and then finished with patina to highlight patterns in this two session jewelry making class.

Andrea Huntley will discuss the different metals available to create jewelry, and the hardness of the metals. Pre-made cabochons will be selected at the time of class. Working with sterling silver or argentium silver, we will create a backed bezel setting, learn the basics of soldering, the importance of pre filing to ensure a perfect fit, and options for attaching a bail. Students will complete a pendant set in a silver bezel, with an understanding of soldering basics.
