Newaygo County Creates!

Attention all creators in Newaygo County! You are invited to participate in an exhibition, a spotlight if you will, of artists working and living in Newaygo County! If you create art and you’re in Newaygo County we want to know about it!
• Submit 1-3 pieces in any medium 3D, 2D, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, wood carving, clay, resin, furniture, boat making, paddle making, rod tying, fly tying, weaving, mosaic work, stained glass, metal work or mixed media. Art must fit through our doors.
• Drop Off Dates/Times:
Thursday, September 26, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Friday, September 27, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, September 28, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
• Salon Night Saturday, September 28, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. See all submitted work, meet fellow artists, enjoy food and live music. Enjoy optional peer-to-peer art reviews. Attendance encouraged. All work will be on display during Salon Night on September 28. Artwork will be chosen from this event for the curated exhibition on display October 9 through November 9.
• Free to enter up to three pieces of artwork.
• Exhibit on display October 9 – November 9.
• Artwork may be for display only or for sale at a 30% consignment rate.
• All work must be ready to hang or display. 2D pieces need D-Rings with wire on the back.
• NOTIFICATION: After Salon Night, artists selected for the exhibit will be notified by Monday, September 30. Pieces not selected for the exhibit need to be picked up by October 5.
• Artists must reside or work in Newaygo County.

Farmer’s Perspective

Using a variety of watercolor techniques students will learn about the art of perspective as they celebrate the beauty of Newaygo County farms in this mixed media piece.

ARTPRIZE EXHIBIT: KINDNESS NEWAYGO COUNTY

Through October 8 – “Kindness – Newaygo County” – a collaborative project with artist Jane Stroschin, NCRESA, Spectrum Health and NCCA-Artsplace. The project is a community effort to make kindness more common.  Located at the City Water Building by the Richard App Gallery, located at 1101 Monroe Avenue in Grand Rapids.
