Quilting is a tradition, sometimes necessity, and a fine art form recognized around the world from many cultures. The fine art is handed down by generations of crafters, shared patterns tells stories, and each new generation puts their own creativity allowing new techniques and materials to infuse the quilts in the process.
Stop in to enjoy quilt landscapes, full cloth quilting, traditional pieced patterns as well as art quilts with experimental and contemporary processes.
To compliment the Stitches In Time exhibit NCCA-Artsplace is hosting a landscape quilting workshop by Dr. Susan Kruszynski, a fabric dying workshop by Kay Brennan and batik fabric workshop.
NCCA-Artsplace has a secure space, always monitored by paid staff, white gloves, lighting, labeling, insurance and we promote the exhibit in the Newaygo County Arts & Culture Connections newsletter that is direct mailed to 2000 and distributed regionally to 500 more. We’ll be featuring a workshop by Dr. Susan Kruszynski during that time as well as a shibori dying workshop and a batik fabric workshop.
