January is a perfect time to get out of the house and enjoy a painting night at the NCCA-Artsplace. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while we paint a trio of eggs in their warm, cozy nest. Kristi will lead you step by step in creating this 12” x 12” acrylic canvas painting that you’ll be proud to take home, but more importantly, you will have an evening of creative fun!

Mrs. V will guide you through the process of painting a landscape using bright pigments, and tints of colors. Composing your middle ground, foreground and background using varied tints that participant create.

Ages 14-Adult
Working side by side with artist and illustrator Renae Wallace, students will get guided lessons in layout, transfer of design, color theory, and application of paint through blocking in and detail work. Students will work on a group mural project, learning about scale, and painting together using a unified design and color pallet. This public mural project will be on display in the Corridor Gallery at NCCA-Artsplace during the summer of 2017.

In this class students will use a variety of watercolor techniques to capture the beauty of a blue heron on the water’s edge. Cheryl will provide instruction in the use of watercolors using both traditional and creative techniques. All materials are provided for this introductory, or skill building class. Bring a lunch.

Blending colors, testing brush strokes, adding highlights and shadows. These are just a few of the techniques you will explore while learning how to paint a landscape filled will rolled bales of hay and rich colors. Step away from your busy schedule and spend an evening creating something beautiful. All ability levels are welcome.

Call a friend and join artist Sharon Smithem for a relaxed painting experience. Sharon will guide you through the process of using acrylic painting techniques like blending colors, testing brush strokes, adding highlights and shadows, to create a colorful picture of a lake channel on a 16”x20” canvas. No prior experience is required.

If you have always wanted to try a painting class or want to brush up on your painting skills then the Art Uncork’ed Acrylic series of painting classes are perfect. Sharon is an accomplished painter that will gently lead you through the painting process. In this class participants will learn to paint a cardinal in a winter setting.
