Get muddy at NCCA-Artsplace! This class is limited to 6 participants per session so each participant will get
some experience throwing on the potter’s wheel! Students will also learn how to hand build, connect, and roll a
slab! Learn several different finishing techniques including glazing, staining and painting. All work goes home

students outdoors to try some of the different camera settings. The second day they will focus on macro

In this class students will learn the basic properties of three
types of paint – oil, watercolor and acrylic. Lesa with guide
you through the process of exploring these three very
different mediums. This is your opportunity to test three
distinct paints without any risk.

 Mary Sundstrom is a West Michigan artist who is greatly influenced by the natural beauty of her location. She especially enjoys painting the creatures and plant life living among the bayous that surround the Grand River. Her playful artwork represents what she sees and imagines as other worldly creatures.

lichenMary is studying Lewis Cross and Annabel Livermore learning about the work by adding elements of their paintings into her own work to form an amalgamation of West Michigan painters from the past and present. Mary has been a fixture at the Holland Area Arts Council for over six years. She works as Program Director and Exhibits Co-Coordinator where she designs art programs for people of all ages and cultures. Mary enjoys working with regional artists to create exhibitions.

Christmas Ornament Painting with Jane Stroschin

Ages 12-Adult

Prepare for the holiday season by spending an inspiring
evening with artist, Jane Stroschin. Jane will guide you
through the process of painting beautiful scenes on 4” bulbs.
Each student should expect to complete two bulbs. This is a
perfect decoration for your holiday tree or as a unique gift.

Art Uncork’d Acrylic Canvas Painting Classes with Sharon Smithem “Barn in Field with Poppies”

Class Fee: $45 ($40 Members)

Ages 18-Adult

Take some time away from winter and join us for a
relaxing painting experience. Participants will use acrylic
painting techniques to complete a 16’ x 20” landscape with
a softly colored barn in the middle ground and poppies
in the foreground. Call some friends and make this a fun,
learning experience and social gathering.
