Sharon Pollice – “Bold Nature” Exhibit
January 6-31
Reception, Thursday,
January 22, 5:30 p.m.
Jansma Gallery
at NCCA-Artsplace,
13 E. Main St., Fremont. 231-924-4022.

West Michigan artist, Sharon Pollice has known her passion for art from an early age. Her talent and excitement in learning about art lead to her teaching it for over two decades. Now retired she spends her time traveling with a camera, capturing moments that have become the source of new work. Sharon’s bold and colorful, often playful depictions of the natural landscape, flora and fauna, beloved pets and favorite wildlife show her whimsical and energized view of the world through her oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings.

Sharon’s scientific approach to her work makes color imagery come alive and initiates discovery and fascination. “In my work, every mark, no matter how small, makes a difference to the final vision. I strive for the complexity of images. I love large formats and brilliant color. Believing that the tragedy of beauty is its inevitability to fade, I try to capture that
fleeting moment and make one pause and absorb the wonder of what surrounds us,” states Sharon about her work.
