Introduction to Oil Painting with Lindsay Isenhart

Learn to prepare a surface for oils; develop an under painting, build up with glazing, scumbling, ala prima, and impasto techniques; and finish with varnish. Mineral spirits used in class can be an irritant to some.
Statue of Liberty Pop Art Painting

Using Peter Max, a pop artist from the 1970’s, as inspiration students will paint the head of the Statue of Liberty with bright acrylic paint on canvas.
Reverse Portrait Painting
Thurs., July 14 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

Use a self portrait photograph transferred to a piece of clear acetate to create a colorful layered painting using acrylic paint and printing techniques.
Ice Cream Cone Painting
Tues., June 28 12:30 – 2:00 p.m.

Students will use established painting techniques to paint an ice cream cone on canvas with acrylic paint. Artist Wayne Thiebaud will be our inspiration.
Canvas Color Study

Using artist canvas students will use tape to create a a brilliant geometric design. Next they will use acrylic paint and gradation techniques to add vibrant colors.
Canvas Letter Design

In this class students will use acrylic paint and design techniques to create a colorful letter on an artists canvas!
Papunya Dot Turtle Painting
Tues., June 28 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Based on the papunya dot paintings of Australia students will use paper and paint to design their own turtle pattern using dots.
Picasso Face Construction
Sat., June 25 12:30 – 2:00 p.m.
Ages 6-8

Using cardboard and paint students will construct a head in the style of Pablo Picasso while learning all about the artist.
Alligator Adventure
Sat., August 20 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Ages 4-5

Cutting, painting, stamping, gluing – all these basic techniques will be used to make an amazing alligator.
Butterfly Painting Experience
Thurs., July 14 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

In this class students will use paint, brushes and stamping tools to design a colorful, symmetrical butterfly.
